Understanding Tool calling
In practice, tool calling turns a model from a text generator into a coordinator. Example of Tool calling in action

The model does not know the answer from its training data, so it calls a `get_order_status` tool with the user ID or order number. Your backend queries the order system, returns the status, and the model turns that structured result into a natural reply.
This same pattern can chain into other tools too. For example, the model might check inventory, summarize the result, and then draft a customer-facing update without the user having to manually gather each step.
